In this release, Scintilla component is updated to v2.25.
TextFX plugin is excluded due to an annoying bug (Unicode path displaying problem on Notepad++ caption bar). Users can always install it by using Plugins Manager within 3 clicks.

You may notice a small t letter appears just beside of Current Version number on Notepad++ web site. That's right, Notepad++ is on Twitter now :)
Notepad++ will tweet mainly its new release. It tweets occasionally the issues less or none related with Notepad++.

Indeed.
It's a horrible reality, but we have to admit: the humain lives have not the same value. It's not reasonable that 5000 Japanese lives are superior than 16000 children's lives per day.

Following the step of binaries distribution on 07/05/2010, Notepad++ source code repository has been moved from USA territory (SourceForge) to France (TuxFamily).

An annoying regression is fixed in the new release 5.8.7: wrong input characters are inserted due to non modal message boxes.
Notepad++ 5.8.6 release

In this new release, a minimalist package is added.
It contains only the files needed to run Notepad++ with no plugins, no themes, no autocompletion API files, no auto-updater and no localization files.
The package is much smaller and Notepad++ will run faster.
Notepad++ v5.8.5 released

Due to some complains about new icon, one option to switch back to the old one is available in the installer.
ChangeIcon.exe and old icon will be available ASAP for those who use the zip package and desire his/her old icon back.
